that he wears a back-pack parachute, which allowed him to snap a one man
life raft (dinghy) and some survival gear, to be used as a seat cushion.
(Unfortunately, the dinghy pack is large, bulky and heavy ..completely filling the 'seat pan', which could have contributed to his delay in bailing out as he glided rapidly toward the Sea of Japan.) |
